Sindh High Court Rejects Rajab Butt’s Plea to Quash Blasphemy Case

The Sindh High Court has rejected YouTuber Rajab Butt’s petition seeking to quash the blasphemy case registered against him and directed the Inspector General (IG) of Sindh to ensure that the investigation is completed as soon as possible.
In its ruling, the court instructed the IG Sindh to ensure that the investigation is concluded within three weeks. It further directed that if the investigating officer finds no evidence against the accused during the probe, a report should immediately be submitted to the relevant trial court.

The verdict was issued after the court had earlier reserved its decision following the completion of arguments from both sides.
The case against Rajab Butt was registered at Karachi’s Hyderi Market Police Station on the complaint of advocate Riaz Solangi, who accused the YouTuber under Pakistan’s blasphemy laws.
