CM Maryam Nawaz highlighted the initiative’s broader goals, emphasizing shrimp farming’s potential to meet rising global demand and bolster Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves. She noted that cultivating shrimp on 100,000 acres of land could generate over a billion dollars in revenue.
Her vision includes transforming barren land in South Punjab into productive shrimp farming areas, contributing to the region’s economic development.
In addition to training, the program supports farmers and investors through access to leased land, incentives, and essential farming equipment. The project is expected to create between 10,000 to 20,000 jobs, emphasizing self-employment and financial independence for young people.
Graduates interested in the program are encouraged to apply through the government’s online job portal, with the initiative designed to foster both employment opportunities and sustainable economic growth in Punjab.
