Saudi Arabia Starts Issuing Umrah Visas For 1448 AH Season

Saudi Arabia has officially begun issuing Umrah visas for the 1448 AH season, launching preparations for the next pilgrimage cycle shortly after the completion of this year’s Hajj.

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that the issuance of Umrah visas and the arrival of international pilgrims will commence from May 31 and continue until March 23, 2027.

Pilgrims visiting the Kingdom for Umrah will be able to obtain permits and manage their pilgrimage arrangements through the Nusuk platform, Saudi Arabia’s unified digital portal for Umrah and Hajj services. The platform allows users to apply for permits, make bookings and access a range of pilgrimage-related services electronically.

According to the ministry, March 9, 2027, corresponding to 1 Shawwal 1448 AH, will be the final date for the issuance of Umrah visas for the current season.

Authorities also confirmed that March 23, 2027, will be the last day for Umrah pilgrims to enter Saudi Arabia. All pilgrims must depart the Kingdom no later than April 7, 2027.

Saudi Arabia has significantly expanded its digital pilgrimage services in recent years as part of efforts to improve efficiency and enhance the experience of visitors. The Nusuk platform now offers electronic permits, automated contracting procedures and QR-code verification systems to streamline the pilgrimage process.

The Kingdom is also continuing to invest in transportation networks, accommodation facilities and other infrastructure projects under its Vision 2030 programme, which aims to increase pilgrimage capacity and provide improved services to millions of visitors arriving from around the world each year.
