Saudi Arabia Pledges Decisive Response to Attacks on Oil Facilities

Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the recent attacks targeting its oil facilities, commercial vessels in the Red Sea, and critical infrastructure, declaring that the Kingdom will respond firmly to any threats against its security and national interests.
During a Cabinet meeting held in Jeddah on Tuesday and chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi leaders denounced attacks allegedly carried out by Iran-backed militias operating in Yemen and Iraq. The Cabinet stated that Saudi Arabia would not tolerate any actions that threaten the country’s security, economic interests, or strategic infrastructure.

The Cabinet emphasized that any response by the Kingdom would be carried out in accordance with international humanitarian law, customary international law, and the principle of proportionality, reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s commitment to acting within internationally recognized legal frameworks.
Saudi Arabia also called on the Iraqi government to take all necessary measures to ensure that its territory is not used as a base for launching attacks against the Kingdom. The Cabinet stressed that regional governments share responsibility for preventing cross-border threats and maintaining stability.
The meeting also reviewed Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s recent diplomatic engagements, including telephone conversations with Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham. The discussions focused on regional security, ongoing diplomatic efforts, and measures aimed at reducing tensions across the Middle East.
According to the Cabinet, Saudi Arabia continues to prioritize diplomatic dialogue while working with regional and international partners to protect maritime navigation in the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea, ensuring the security of global trade routes and energy supplies.
Reaffirming the Kingdom’s foreign policy principles, the Cabinet highlighted the importance of respecting the sovereignty of all states, avoiding interference in internal affairs, promoting good-neighbourly relations, safeguarding freedom of navigation, and upholding international law as essential foundations for lasting regional peace and stability.
