President Zardari Launches “Benazir Hunarmand Programme” to Equip Youth with Global Job Market Skills

President Asif Ali Zardari formally launched the Benazir Skills Programme on Friday, outlining a vision to empower Pakistan’s youth with advanced technical training and modern education to meet global employment standards.

At the inauguration ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, President Zardari stressed the programme’s goal of transforming ordinary citizens into skilled professionals by providing training in key sectors such as computer literacy, technical education, and emerging technologies. He also underscored the initiative’s focus on preparing young Pakistanis—especially women—for international job markets.

The programme includes language courses in German and Chinese, aiming to improve participants’ employability in countries where language proficiency is crucial. Additionally, specialized training in high-demand fields such as nursing will be provided to young women to help them access overseas opportunities.

President Zardari praised the efforts of Naveed Qamar for spearheading the programme and acknowledged the ongoing contributions of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), particularly in promoting education and rights for children, including girls.

He emphasized that such skill-building initiatives are key to ensuring Pakistan’s youth can compete globally and contribute meaningfully to both the national economy and the broader international workforce.
