PM Shahbaz Directs Digitization of Hajj Procedures This Year
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday directed officials of the National Information Technology Board to ensure the digitization of all essential stages of the Hajj process to facilitate pilgrims during the current year and make access to government services easier through the use of technology.

The prime minister issued these instructions while chairing a review meeting on matters related to the National Information Technology Board, according to a news release from the Prime Minister’s Office.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the extensive preparations made by the Ministry of Information Technology and other relevant ministries for the establishment of Asan Khidmat Markaz in the federal capital. He said such initiatives would play a key role in improving public service delivery.
The prime minister also informed participants that he would soon hold a separate review meeting on the QR-based feedback system designed for overseas Pakistanis to enhance engagement and service quality.
In a detailed briefing, NITB officials told the prime minister that following the appointment of the new chief executive officer, the institution’s entire structure was being reorganized in line with modern and contemporary requirements. They added that all arrangements had been finalized for the opening of Asan Khidmat Markaz to provide streamlined services to citizens in Islamabad.
The officials further shared that a secure new application for all government sector institutions would be launched in the near future. They also informed that an integrated One Patient One ID system was in the final stages of preparation, aimed at ensuring timely and improved service delivery in public hospitals.
According to the briefing, the proposed system is expected to enhance hospital performance and improve the quality of care for patients. The officials also said that an analytics dashboard for the judiciary, based on big data, was currently under development.
It was noted during the meeting that the National Information Technology Board is currently managing more than 145 government websites, over 126 online portals and 31 mobile phone applications.
