Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday visited Mansoora in Lahore, where he met Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman to offer his condolences over the death of the party’s Secretary General, Ameerul Azeem.

During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi expressed profound grief and sorrow over Ameerul Azeem’s passing, describing it as a significant loss. He offered his heartfelt sympathies to Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and the bereaved family.

Ameerul Azeem passed away on July 23, 2026, after a prolonged battle with cancer. Despite his illness, he continued to perform his organisational responsibilities until his final days, earning praise within the party for his dedication, resilience and perseverance.
Following his death, Jamaat-e-Islami chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman described Ameerul Azeem’s passing as an irreparable loss for the party. He prayed for Allah’s mercy, forgiveness and an elevated rank for the deceased, while also asking for patience and courage for his grieving family.
