LHC Grants Bail to 21 PTI Workers in Protest Cases

The Rawalpindi Bench of the Lahore High Court has granted bail to 21 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists involved in multiple protest-related cases, including those from the demonstrations held on May 9, October 4, November 24, and November 26.

The court approved bail in all pending protest cases, effectively clearing Rawalpindi and Attock jails of any remaining political detainees related to these incidents. Each individual was instructed to furnish surety bonds worth Rs 100,000.

The bail orders were issued by a division bench comprising Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan and Justice Amjad Rafiq.

In a related development, the Islamabad High Court was scheduled to hear appeals filed by Sohail Khan and other convicts involved in the May 9 attack on the Ramna police station. However, the hearing could not proceed. The division bench, consisting of Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro and Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, was set to review both the appeals and requests for sentence suspension, which were previously handed down by the Anti-Terrorism Court.
