Pakistani Qawwali duo Sabri Sisters have achieved a major international milestone after being featured on Spotify’s digital billboard in New York’s iconic Times Square.
The honor was awarded through Spotify’s Equal program, a global initiative designed to support and amplify female artists by providing them with greater international visibility. Anamta Sabri and Suman Sabri appeared on the billboard on June 17, joining a growing list of Pakistani women artists who have received global recognition through the platform.

The Sabri Sisters belong to the renowned Sabri family, one of South Asia’s most respected Qawwal lineages. They are the nieces of legendary Qawwal Amjad Sabri, while their family heritage is closely linked to the celebrated Sabri Brothers, who played a pivotal role in preserving and promoting the tradition of Qawwali across generations.
The duo entered the music industry in 2017 and gained widespread attention through a tribute song dedicated to their late uncle, Amjad Sabri. Since then, they have collaborated with several leading Pakistani artists, including Atif Aslam, Asim Azhar and Farhan Saeed.
Reacting to the achievement, the Sabri Sisters described their inclusion in Spotify’s Equal program as a proud moment for both themselves and Pakistan. They said it was a special honor to follow in the footsteps of renowned artists such as Abida Parveen and Sanam Marvi, who have also represented Pakistan on international platforms.
The sisters are currently preparing for their first-ever UK tour, scheduled for summer 2026, where they plan to showcase a unique blend of traditional Qawwali and contemporary music to international audiences.
