Mishi Khan criticises Naeem Bukhari over remarks about elderly parents

• Mishi Khan condemns viral remarks allegedly made by Naeem Bukhari about elderly parents.
• Says parents should never be viewed as a burden under any circumstances.
• Warns such thinking could encourage disrespect for elders and the rise of old-age homes.
• Calls for compassion, dignity and respect in discussions about senior citizens.

Pakistani actress and television host Mishi Khan has strongly criticised comments attributed to Naeem Bukhari regarding elderly parents, saying such views have no place in a society built on family values.

In a video shared on social media, Mishi reacted to a viral clip in which Naeem Bukhari allegedly described elderly parents as a burden. Expressing shock over the remarks, she questioned how anyone could adopt such a mindset toward the people who dedicate their lives to raising their children.

Mishi stressed that parents should never be considered a burden, adding that millions of Pakistanis continue to care for their ageing mothers and fathers with love, respect and gratitude. She said serving one’s parents is not an obligation to complain about, but a responsibility that should be fulfilled with pride and honour.

The actress also criticised what she called a dangerous and insensitive way of thinking, saying true education and wisdom are reflected through compassion, kindness and respect for elders. According to her, promoting the idea that elderly parents are a burden could normalise negative attitudes and contribute to the growing trend of sending parents to old-age homes.

She further objected to what she perceived as a mocking tone while discussing senior citizens, saying elderly people should never be ridiculed or used as the subject of jokes for entertainment.
