The video, which began circulating widely on Tuesday night, quickly went viral on TikTok, Facebook and other social media platforms, with many users initially questioning whether it was scripted content or a real-life incident. However, the controversy took a new turn when both Ali Hyderabadi and Zainab Ali released separate videos confirming that their marriage had ended while presenting completely different versions of the events.
Ali Hyderabadi and Zainab Ali were married in 2023 and frequently appeared together in TikTok videos and livestreams, becoming one of Pakistan’s well-known social media couples with a large online following.
Following the viral divorce video, Zainab Ali shared an emotional video in which she levelled several serious allegations against her former husband. She claimed Ali Hyderabadi had threatened her on multiple occasions, accused him of marrying her for financial gain and alleged that he was driven by greed. She also claimed he had previous marriages, although this allegation has not been independently verified.
In her video, Zainab appealed directly to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, requesting protection. She alleged that Ali Hyderabadi had repeatedly threatened her and claimed he had warned her about his influence. Expressing fear for her safety, she urged the Punjab government to intervene and provide her with protection.
Hours later, Ali Hyderabadi responded through another video, categorically rejecting all of Zainab Ali’s allegations. He denied threatening or physically abusing his former wife and dismissed the accusations as false.
Ali Hyderabadi said he had anticipated that allegations of physical abuse would be made against him after the divorce, which is why he deliberately chose to record the entire divorce process on video. According to him, the recording was intended to serve as evidence of how the separation took place and to protect himself from what he described as false claims.
