  • She rejects societal pressure surrounding marriage and personal life decisions.
  • The actress encourages women to pursue education and independence with determination.

Pakistani actress and entrepreneur Komal Aziz Khan has sparked widespread discussion on social media after candidly sharing her views on independent living, marriage and women’s empowerment during a recent Instagram “Ask Me Anything” session.

Responding to questions from her followers, Komal spoke openly about several aspects of her personal life, including her relationship with her family, her decision to live on her own and the importance of making independent life choices.

One of the most talked-about moments came when a fan asked whether she lives with her family. Komal revealed that she moved into her own home around a year and a half ago and now lives with her best friend and her pet cat.

She clarified, however, that living independently has not affected her close bond with her family. According to Komal, her family lives nearby and frequently sends her homemade meals, allowing her to stay closely connected despite having her own place. Describing her current lifestyle, she said she is happier than ever and called it the “best life ever.”

When another follower suggested that she had “left” her family, Komal dismissed the idea, explaining that becoming independent is a natural stage of life. Comparing the journey to young birds eventually leaving their nest, she said having her own home simply means taking responsibility for herself rather than distancing herself from her loved ones.

Adding a touch of humour, she joked that everyone, especially married couples, should experience living independently, saying that “cutting the umbilical cord” is actually an attractive quality.

Komal also addressed the pressure many women face to get married. Asked whether family or friends ever pressure her to settle down, she said she has a strong sense of self and never allows society to dictate her personal choices. Maintaining her light-hearted tone, she remarked that she doesn’t take pressure from anyone—she only knows how to give it.

During the session, Komal also responded to a follower who said her family wanted her to get married instead of pursuing higher education. Encouraging women to stand firm in pursuit of their ambitions, Komal urged them to remain determined and resilient. She acknowledged that society often creates obstacles for women, but said those who stay strong and refuse to give up are ultimately able to achieve true independence.
