Intermittent monsoon rainfall continued throughout the day at Qadirabad Barrage, where cloudy skies and cooler weather prevailed as authorities monitored the Chenab River’s water level.
According to local officials, the current inflow at Qadirabad Barrage is approximately 100,000 cusecs, marking a significant decline from the recent peak of nearly 270,000 cusecs recorded over the past few days. The reduction in river flow has eased immediate concerns of flooding, with officials confirming that the overall situation remains under control.

Despite the improvement in river conditions, continuous rainfall has led to waterlogging in several nearby villages and agricultural fields. Farmers have reported difficulties, particularly in arranging fodder and accessing grazing areas for their livestock due to standing water.
The local administration has advised residents living near the river to remain cautious and move livestock and valuable belongings to safer locations as a precautionary measure.
Authorities said there is currently no emergency, but warned that conditions could change if heavy monsoon rains persist or if additional water is released from the Indian side. Officials added that river flows and weather conditions are being monitored around the clock to ensure a timely response to any change in the flood situation.
