The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has released Rs45 million to national hockey players ahead of a busy international schedule, including the FIH Pro League and preparations for the Hockey World Cup.

According to federation officials, each player has received Rs2.2 million as part of the disbursement. The amount includes Rs700,000 in Pro League allowances and Rs1.5 million awarded by the Prime Minister in recognition of Pakistan’s qualification for the upcoming Hockey World Cup.

PHF President Muhsin Naqvi said the federation had made the payments in advance for the first time before an international tournament, describing the move as an important step toward supporting players and boosting morale.

He added that the federation would continue providing assistance to the national team until existing administrative and organizational issues facing Pakistan hockey are resolved.

PHF President Muhammad Tahir Vani said players were also provided daily allowances at the rate of $110 per day for participation in the Pro League.

He noted that the government was closely overseeing hockey affairs on the directives of the Prime Minister and expressed confidence that the national team would produce strong performances in upcoming competitions.

Pakistan’s national hockey team is scheduled to begin its Pro League campaign in Belgium, where it will face Belgium and Spain between June 13 and June 20.

The team will then travel to England for matches against India and England from June 23 to June 27 as part of the same competition.

Following the conclusion of the Pro League, Pakistan will shift its focus to preparations for the FIH Hockey World Cup, which is scheduled to be held jointly in the Netherlands and Belgium from August 14 to August 30.
