MIAMI: Alf-Inge Haaland, the father of Norway captain Erling Haaland, has accused the match officials of “robbing” Norway during their 2-1 FIFA World Cup quarter-final defeat to England, claiming Thomas Tuchel’s side were “saved by the referee.”
The former Leeds United midfielder expressed his frustration after Norway had a crucial second-half goal ruled out. Defender Torbjorn Heggem appeared to put Norway 2-1 ahead from a corner, but the referee disallowed the goal after judging that Erling Haaland had fouled England’s Elliot Anderson in the build-up.
