Seven Pakistani Cricketers Set to Feature in Big Bash League 2025

In a significant boost to Pakistan’s presence in international T20 cricket, seven Pakistani players are set to take part in Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL) 2025, marking one of the largest representations from the country in a single BBL season.

According to confirmed list, top fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has been picked in the platinum category by Brisbane Heat, while speedster Haris Rauf is set to continue his stint with Melbourne Stars. Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has been signed by the Melbourne Renegades, adding strength to their top order.

Shadab Khan, Pakistan’s premier all-rounder, will join the Sydney Thunder for another season. Left-arm spinner Hassan Khan is also expected to feature for the Melbourne Renegades. Meanwhile, seasoned fast bowler Hasan Ali has been recruited by the Adelaide Strikers.

The expansion in Pakistani participation this season reflects the growing international demand for the country’s T20 talent. Their consistent performances in global leagues and international matches have made them sought-after names for franchise teams.

Among the most high-profile signings this season is former Pakistan captain Babar Azam, who has already inked a landmark pre-signing deal with Sydney Sixers. Valued at around Rs100 million (PKR 10 crore), Babar’s contract surpasses the base price of the Platinum category, estimated at PKR 7.75 crore. His move has been hailed as one of the most valuable acquisitions in BBL history and is expected to draw strong fan interest, particularly from South Asian audiences.
