Punjab Launches ‘e-Learn She Earn’ Program With Free Laptops And Monthly Stipends For Women

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched the ‘e-Learn She Earn’ programme, a major women empowerment initiative aimed at helping thousands of women build careers in the digital economy through online work, freelancing and entrepreneurship.
With an allocated budget of Rs700 million, the programme seeks to expand economic opportunities for women across Punjab by providing free digital skills training, financial support and access to modern technology. The initiative is being jointly implemented by the Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF) and the Women Development Department Punjab.

The programme has been designed to bridge the digital divide and equip women with market-relevant skills that can enable them to earn a sustainable income from home. Officials say the initiative aims to transform women into active participants in Pakistan’s growing digital economy and help them access opportunities in the global freelance and remote work markets.
Under the programme, selected participants will receive free three-month online training in several high-demand fields that offer strong employment and self-employment prospects.
The training curriculum includes Digital Marketing and E-commerce, where participants will learn how to promote products, manage online brands and sell through digital platforms. Women will also receive training in Graphic Design, enabling them to develop creative skills for content creation, branding and visual communication.
Another key area of training is Virtual Assistance, which prepares participants to provide administrative and operational support to international clients and businesses. The programme also includes Digital Customer Care training, focusing on professional communication and online customer relationship management.
To ensure that financial or technical barriers do not prevent women from participating, the Punjab government has announced a range of benefits for selected candidates. Participants will receive free laptops to facilitate training and professional work, monthly stipends during the training period, support for internet connectivity and professional certifications upon successful completion of the programme.
Officials believe these incentives will allow women to focus on skill development and prepare them for remote employment opportunities immediately after training.
The programme is open to women between the ages of 15 and 35 years, although certain specialised tracks may accept candidates up to the age of 40. Applicants must be permanent residents of Punjab and possess a valid CNIC or B-Form.
Educational requirements vary according to the selected course, but candidates with Matriculation or Intermediate qualifications are generally preferred.
Applications will be accepted through official government platform including eearn.pitb.gov.pk and https://www.psdf.org.pk/empowering-rural-women/. Interested candidates can register online through the Punjab Information Technology Board’s dedicated portal or via the Punjab Skills Development Fund website.
The selection process will be conducted on merit and may include an aptitude or assessment test to evaluate applicants’ suitability for the training programme.
The launch of ‘e-Learn She Earn’ forms part of the Punjab government’s broader strategy to promote digital inclusion, increase women’s workforce participation and support entrepreneurship through technology-based initiatives.
Officials expect the programme to create new income opportunities for women across urban and rural areas, helping them build sustainable careers while contributing to the province’s digital transformation and economic growth.
