PM’s Youth Programme and Lahore Qalandars to Begin Cricket Talent Hunt from Quetta

In a significant move to foster youth engagement and sports development, the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), together with Lahore Qalandars, is launching a nationwide Cricket Talent Hunt. The first event is scheduled to take place in Quetta on June 27, 2025.

This ambitious project aims to identify, support, and polish young cricket talent across Pakistan. Aspiring cricketers from various regions will be given a unique opportunity to exhibit their skills, opening doors for them to build professional careers in cricket at both national and international levels.

The collaboration between PMYP and Lahore Qalandars was formally established on June 12, 2025, with both parties signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The MoU outlines plans for conducting talent hunts in major cities throughout Pakistan, ensuring equal opportunities for young athletes from diverse backgrounds and geographic locations.

The selected players will benefit significantly from state-of-the-art training and resources provided through the program. High-performance training sessions designed to meet international standards will prepare these young talents to excel in professional cricket. Additionally, the promising athletes identified through this talent hunt will have chances to represent their skills on national and global stages, substantially increasing their exposure and growth potential.

This Cricket Talent Hunt aligns closely with PMYP’s overarching objective to encourage youth participation in positive and constructive activities. The programme emphasizes sports as a critical pathway to youth empowerment and career building, aiming to nurture young Pakistanis and help them realize their maximum potential.
