Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves recorded a sharp increase during the latest reporting week, reaching their highest level since 2021 after the country received inflows worth $1.944 billion.

According to the latest figures released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the central bank’s foreign exchange reserves rose by $1.944 billion over the week, reaching $18.471 billion — the highest level recorded in nearly four years.

Foreign exchange reserves held by commercial banks also posted a slight increase, rising by $3 million to $5.518 billion during the same period.

With the latest gains, Pakistan’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves climbed by $1.947 billion to $23.9887 billion, marking the country’s strongest reserve position since 2021.
