Kartik Aaryan reveals how he lost 18kg for ‘Chandu Champion’

Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has opened up about the intense physical transformation he underwent for his role in the film Chandu Champion, saying the experience taught him valuable lessons both personally and professionally.

In a recent Instagram post, the actor shared that he stepped into the life of a person “the world had forgotten,” adding that the story helped him rediscover the true meaning of resilience and purpose.

According to Kartik, the film is not only about an individual who refuses to give up but also about turning failures into success through determination and hard work.

The actor revealed that he trained in boxing for 14 months to prepare for the role and completely eliminated sugar from his diet. He emphasised that he achieved the transformation naturally, without using any prohibited substances or performance-enhancing drugs.

Kartik said he reduced his weight from 90 kilograms to 72 kilograms as part of the preparation process. He recalled that when he began training, he was unable to perform even a single push-up. However, over time, he developed the strength to do push-ups with an additional 50 to 60 kilograms of weight.

He also noted significant improvements in his agility, jumping ability and footwork during training. From struggling with basic movements at the start, he eventually mastered 14 to 15 advanced techniques.

The actor added that the journey was not just a physical transformation but also an emotional and mental one, as the role and the rigorous training process changed his perspective on life.
