Sikandar Raza Reclaims No.1 T20I All-Rounder Ranking After Zimbabwe’s Strong World Cup Start

Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza has climbed back to the top of the ICC Men’s T20I All-Rounder Rankings following his team’s impressive start to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Zimbabwe opened their campaign with a dominant eight-wicket victory over Oman in Colombo, and Raza’s all-round performance played a key role in the triumph. His efforts with both bat and ball helped him regain the No.1 position in the latest rankings update released by the International Cricket Council.

In the match at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground, Raza delivered an economical spell of 1 for 17 in his four overs, helping restrict Oman to just 103 runs. He later returned to the crease and struck the winning runs, ensuring Zimbabwe made a confident start to the tournament. The performance earned him a one-place rise in the rankings, allowing him to move past Pakistan opener Saim Ayub to reclaim the top spot, a position he had first secured late last year.

Raza was not the only Zimbabwe player to benefit from the rankings reshuffle. His teammate Brian Bennett made significant gains in the T20I batter rankings after his unbeaten 48 against Oman. Bennett achieved a new career-best rating and jumped two places to 19th on the list.

Among Pakistani players, Sahibzada Farhan emerged as one of the biggest movers inside the top 10. After his explosive 73 against the USA, Farhan surged four places to reach third position in the T20I batter rankings.

At the top of the batting charts, India’s Abhishek Sharma continues to hold the No.1 spot, ahead of England’s Phil Salt. Several other batters made notable progress, including New Zealand’s Tim Seifert, who climbed one place to eighth, and Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis, who jumped six spots to 12th. Scotland’s George Munsey advanced seven positions to equal 23rd, while India’s Ishan Kishan rose seven places to 25th. Netherlands batter Michael Levitt also improved his standing, moving up six places to 27th.

In the T20I bowlers’ rankings, India’s Varun Chakravarthy maintains a narrow lead over Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed at the summit. Sri Lanka all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga was the only significant mover within the top 10, climbing one spot to fifth.

Outside the top 10, there was considerable movement. India’s Arshdeep Singh rose three places to 11th, while Pakistan’s Salman Mirza jumped nine spots to 13th. Zimbabwe’s Brad Evans made a strong leap of 16 places to reach equal 15th. New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner moved up four spots to equal 19th, and Scotland’s Bradley Currie registered one of the biggest gains, surging 25 places to 24th.
