Pakistani cricket legend Wasim Akram has become the latest target of online misinformation after fake AI-generated videos and social media posts falsely claimed that he had died from a heart attack.

The fabricated reports quickly spread across various social media platforms, alarming fans and prompting widespread concern about the former Pakistan captain’s well-being.

Putting the rumours to rest, Shaneira Akram shared a fresh video of her husband working out at the gym, making it clear that he is alive, healthy and in good spirits.

The video shows Wasim Akram completing several exercises, including cable pulldowns, pull-ups and barbell floor presses, before turning towards the camera with a smile.

In the caption accompanying the video, Shaneira said she decided to post the clip in response to the “fake news and AI videos” circulating online.

“As you can see, he is in the gym and seems OK,” she wrote, reassuring fans that the reports were completely false.

Her post was widely welcomed by supporters, many of whom expressed relief after seeing Wasim Akram safe and healthy.
