Meta Launches AI-Powered Oakley Smart Glasses with 3K Video and Sport-Ready Design, Here’s the Price in Pakistan

Meta has unveiled a new line of smart glasses in collaboration with Oakley, signaling its next big move in the wearable tech market. The limited-edition Oakley Meta HSTN glasses were announced with a price tag of $499, while additional Oakley-branded models will be rolled out later this summer, starting at $399.

Meta’s newly launched Oakley smart glasses are expected to carry a hefty price tag in Pakistan. With the current exchange rate at PKR 283.91 per US dollar, the limited-edition Oakley Meta HSTN model priced at $499 would cost approximately PKR 141,671, while the standard Oakley-branded models set to release later this summer at $399 would amount to roughly PKR 113,280. These estimates do not include import duties, sales tax, or shipping costs, which could push the final retail price even higher in the Pakistani market.

Positioned as Meta’s entry into the performance and athletics segment, the Oakley smart glasses mark a departure from the more lifestyle-oriented Ray-Ban series. Sporting Oakley’s signature frame designs, the new glasses are built for active use and come with an IPX4 water resistance rating — ideal for workouts and outdoor activities.

The standout feature is a front-facing 3K resolution camera, a significant upgrade from the 1080p camera in Meta’s earlier Ray-Ban models. Users can enjoy up to eight hours of battery life on a single charge, supplemented by a companion charging case that extends usage by another 48 hours.

Meta has also integrated its advanced AI system into the Oakley HSTN. The glasses support hands-free calling, real-time translation, music playback, and even visual query recognition — allowing users to receive information based on what they see. Built-in microphones and open-ear speakers enhance convenience, enabling a seamless mix of functionality and style.

“This is our first step into the performance category,” said Alex Himel, Meta’s head of wearables. “There’s more to come.”

To support its launch campaign, Meta has partnered with global football star Kylian Mbappé, further underlining its focus on athletic branding. Five lens and frame combinations will be available, including prescription-ready options. A premium model featuring gold detailing and Oakley’s renowned PRIZM lenses will be available for preorder starting July 11.

The new release follows Meta’s ongoing partnership with eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica, the parent company of both Ray-Ban and Oakley. More than two million Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses have already been sold, and the company aims to scale up to 10 million annual units by 2026.

Meta’s aggressive push into smart wearables comes amid growing competition in the space. Google is advancing its own XR glasses with embedded displays, and Apple is reportedly working on similar AI-powered wearable technology. However, by embedding artificial intelligence into real-world experiences, Meta hopes to maintain its lead in this fast-evolving market.
