Election Result 2024
The 2024 General Elections in Pakistan were held on February 8, 2024, to elect members of the National Assembly and the four Provincial Assemblies. The elections saw intense competition among Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI-backed independent candidates), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), and other political parties.

The National Assembly of Pakistan consists of 336 seats, including 266 general seats, 60 reserved seats for women, and 10 reserved seats for non-Muslims. A party or coalition requires 169 seats to form the federal government.
2024 General Election Results in Pakistan
The 2024 General Elections produced a fragmented mandate. PTI-backed independent candidates emerged as the largest bloc in terms of general seats won, while PML-N secured the second-largest number of seats. PPP also performed strongly, particularly in Sindh.

Following the allocation of reserved seats and coalition negotiations, PML-N and PPP formed a coalition government at the federal level. Shehbaz Sharif of PML-N was elected Prime Minister of Pakistan for a second term, while PPP supported the coalition and secured key constitutional offices.
The elections recorded a voter turnout of approximately 48 percent nationwide. Independent candidates backed by PTI performed particularly well in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, while PPP retained its traditional dominance in Sindh. PML-N remained strongest in central Punjab and emerged as a key governing party at the federal level.
Punjab Assembly Election Result 2024
The Punjab Assembly consists of 371 seats. PTI-backed independent candidates won the largest share of general seats, while PML-N also secured a substantial presence. Following reserved seat allocations and political alignments, PML-N formed the provincial government in Punjab.
Sindh Assembly Election Result 2024
The Sindh Assembly consists of 168 seats. PPP maintained its stronghold in the province and formed the provincial government after securing a clear majority with the support of reserved seats and allied members.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Election Result 2024
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly consists of 145 seats. PTI-backed independent candidates achieved a dominant victory across the province and formed the provincial government after securing a majority in the assembly.
Balochistan Assembly Election Result 2024
The Balochistan Assembly consists of 65 seats. No single party secured a clear majority, leading to coalition-building among various political parties and independent members to form the provincial government.
Formation of Government After Elections 2024
After the election, PML-N, PPP, MQM-P, PML-Q and several smaller parties joined hands to form a coalition government at the center. Shehbaz Sharif became Prime Minister, while Asif Ali Zardari was elected President of Pakistan. The coalition continues to govern at the federal level following the completion of the election process and allocation of reserved seats.
