Sindh Announces August 4 Holiday for All Colleges on Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA)

The Sindh College Education Department has declared August 4 as a public holiday for all government and private colleges across the province in connection with the observance of the Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA).
An official notification issued by the department states that the holiday will be observed by all public and private colleges operating in Sindh. The decision has been taken to facilitate the religious observance of Chehlum, which is marked with processions and gatherings in different parts of the country.

The announcement applies to students, teaching staff and administrative employees of all colleges under the jurisdiction of the Sindh College Education Department.
Chehlum commemorates the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA) and is observed every year with religious ceremonies across Pakistan. The temporary closure of educational institutions forms part of the provincial government’s arrangements for the occasion.
