11th Edition of Pakistan Super League 2026

The 2026 edition of the Pakistan Super League marks the 11th season of the country’s premier T20 competition and ushers in a new phase for the tournament. Unlike previous seasons, PSL 2026 will feature eight teams following the inclusion of two new franchises, significantly expanding the league and increasing its competitive depth. Cricket fans across Pakistan are set to witness an even bigger and more diverse T20 spectacle as matches are expected to be held at home venues under comprehensive security arrangements by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

The 11th season also stands out as a landmark edition due to the introduction of a player auction system, replacing the draft format that had been in place since the league’s inception. With an expanded team lineup and a revised squad selection process, PSL 2026 promises intense competition, strategic team building, and participation from a strong mix of top international stars and leading domestic players.

PSL 2026 will comprise a full schedule of league-stage matches followed by playoffs and the final, extending over more than a month. The expanded format is expected to result in an increased number of matches compared to previous seasons, delivering sustained high-voltage cricket action and further strengthening the league’s status as one of the leading T20 tournaments in the world.

2025 PSL Schedule Announced

The PCB has finally announced the 2025 PSL complete schedule. The first match will be played between defending champions Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans on Monday, January 20, 2025. The PSL 2025 final will take place in Lahore on Saturday, February 22, 2025. All PSL matches this season will be played at Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, and Karachi.

A total of 34 T20 matches will be played during the PSL 10 season, including a Qualifier, scheduled for Wednesday, February 19, and two Eliminators on February 20 and February 21, respectively. The final match is set to be played at Gaddafi Stadium, providing fans with an electrifying cricketing experience.

All six teams will play 10 matches each during the league stage. Every team will face the other team twice during the 30-match league period. Teams will earn 2 points for a win, none for a loss, and 1 point for a no-result. The top four teams in the points table will advance to the playoffs and eventually the grand final.

PSL 2026 Teams and Squads

The squad selection process for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League will be conducted through a player auction, replacing the draft system that was used in previous seasons. The PSL 2026 auction is scheduled to be held on 11 February 2026, marking a historic shift in how franchises build their teams. Ahead of the auction, each franchise was permitted to retain a maximum of four players, limited to one player per category, while the two newly added teams were also allowed to pre-select up to four players to maintain parity across the league.
