Saudi Arabia has taken another major step towards expanding cricket in the Kingdom after signing a landmark partnership with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the development of a modern international-standard cricket stadium in Jeddah.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between PCB Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation (SACF) President Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud during a formal ceremony, where both officials also exchanged the signed agreement.

The partnership was finalised following discussions between the PCB chairman and senior officials of the Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation on enhancing cricket cooperation and strengthening sports infrastructure in the Kingdom.

Under the agreement, the PCB will provide technical support, planning expertise and professional guidance for the construction of the proposed stadium. The venue will be developed according to international standards and equipped with modern facilities capable of hosting international cricket matches and other major sporting events.

Besides the construction of the stadium, both cricket boards will collaborate on several key areas, including infrastructure development, stadium planning, operational standards and the sharing of technical expertise to ensure the project meets global requirements.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi described the agreement as a historic milestone for cricket in Saudi Arabia. He said the partnership would not only help accelerate the growth of the sport in the Kingdom but also strengthen long-term cricketing ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

He added that the stadium project is aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 programme, which aims to expand world-class sports infrastructure, attract international sporting events and encourage greater public participation in sports.
