Pakistan Ranks Fourth Among World’s Weakest Passports in Latest Global Index

Pakistan has been ranked among the weakest passports in the world, placing fourth from the bottom in the latest Henley & Partners Passport Index for July to December 2025. The country shares the 96th position with Somalia and Yemen, offering visa-free access to only 32 destinations.

According to the report, Singapore retained its position as the most powerful passport globally, providing visa-free travel to 193 countries. Japan and South Korea followed in second place with 190 destinations, while Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Spain shared third place, allowing visa-free access to 189 countries. Belgium, Austria, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden secured the fourth position with 188 countries, and Greece, New Zealand, and Switzerland ranked fifth with 187 destinations.

The United States, once the top passport globally, slipped to the 10th spot, with experts noting it could fall out of the top 10 for the first time in the index’s 20-year history. The United Arab Emirates made significant gains over the past decade, rising 34 places to reach 8th position, while China also climbed 34 places to secure 60th.

In South Asia, Pakistan’s passport remains among the weakest. Countries just above Pakistan include Nepal and Libya (95th) and Palestine, Eritrea, and Bangladesh (94th). The weakest passports in the world are held by Iraq (97th), Syria (98th), and Afghanistan (99th).
