The marriage was publicly acknowledged during proceedings at the Lahore High Court, where Hamza Habib confirmed that the couple had already married.
Speaking to reporters outside the court, he stated that he was no longer Momina Iqbal’s future husband but her legal husband, adding that the marriage had taken place two days earlier.
The statement was made during a hearing before Justice Abir Gul regarding Hamza Habib’s protective bail application. The Lahore High Court granted him protective bail and directed him to approach the relevant court by June 1.
Momina Iqbal’s sister, Rimsha, was also present during the court proceedings alongside Hamza Habib.
The legal proceedings stem from a case registered by police in Jhang against Hamza Habib over allegations of issuing death threats to Saqib Chadhar.
Hamza Habib has strongly denied the allegations, describing the case as false and baseless. While speaking to the media, he reiterated that Momina Iqbal is his lawful wife and rejected all accusations against him.
He further claimed that the case was politically motivated and alleged that he had previously been offered money to separate from the actress. Expressing support for his wife, he stated that Momina was his honour and that he would stand by her.
At the time of reporting, there has been no public response from Saqib Chadhar regarding Hamza Habib’s allegations.
