Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday visited the Balochistan Chief Minister Secretariat in Quetta, where she met Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and members of the provincial cabinet. The visit marked her first official trip to Balochistan since assuming office as Punjab’s chief minister.

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, along with his cabinet colleagues, welcomed Maryam Nawaz at the secretariat. During the meeting, CM Bugti praised the Punjab government’s decision to allocate Rs10 billion for security forces, calling it a positive and commendable step. He said such measures reflected inter-provincial cooperation at a time when security challenges required collective national resolve.

CM Bugti also said that both the government and opposition in Balochistan were united on the agenda of public welfare, stressing that political consensus was essential for addressing the province’s long-standing issues and ensuring stability and development.

Speaking on the occasion, Maryam Nawaz said she was pleased to be in Balochistan on her maiden visit as chief minister. She said the passion of the people of Balochistan and their commitment to Pakistan were admirable, adding that these qualities strengthened national unity.

The Punjab chief minister assured that the Punjab government would extend all possible cooperation to the Balochistan government in tackling challenges faced by the province and its people.
