Fakhar Zaman, Asif Afridi Among 29 Participants In PCB Level 2 Coaching Course

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has launched a six-day Level 2 Coaching Course at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore, with 29 participants, including several current and former professional cricketers, taking part in the programme aimed at developing advanced coaching expertise.
The course commenced on Tuesday and will continue until June 7, providing participants with an opportunity to enhance their technical, tactical and leadership skills in modern cricket coaching.

Among the notable attendees are Test cricketers Fakhar Zaman, Asif Khan Afridi and Usman Khan Shinwari, while international all-rounder Hussain Talat is also participating in the programme. Their involvement highlights the growing interest among professional players in pursuing coaching qualifications and contributing to cricket development beyond their playing careers.
The PCB has designed the Level 2 Coaching Course to provide participants with advanced coaching knowledge across multiple aspects of the game. The curriculum includes advanced batting techniques, modern tactical and technical approaches, athlete development and performance management strategies.
Participants will also receive training in specialized areas such as sports psychology, communication skills, biomechanics, athlete management and the mental and physical conditioning of players. These modules are intended to equip aspiring coaches with the tools needed to manage players effectively and support performance at various levels of the sport.
The course is being conducted by experienced coaches from the National Cricket Academy along with members of the PCB Medical Team, who will provide expert guidance on player welfare, fitness and sports science.
PCB officials believe the programme will play an important role in strengthening the country’s coaching infrastructure by preparing former and current cricketers for future coaching responsibilities. The initiative also supports the board’s broader objective of improving coaching standards and player development pathways across Pakistan cricket.
