England’s Linsey Smith Overtakes Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal To Become World No. 1 T20I Bowler

England left-arm spinner Linsey Smith has climbed to the top of the ICC Women’s T20I Bowler Rankings, ending Pakistan spinner Sadia Iqbal’s reign at the summit and claiming the No. 1 position for the first time in her international career.

Smith’s rise comes after a series of impressive performances against New Zealand and India, where she played a key role with the ball and earned valuable ranking points. Her consistent wicket-taking ability and economical bowling helped her move ahead of Sadia Iqbal in the latest rankings update released by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The achievement marks a significant milestone in Smith’s career, as she becomes the highest-ranked bowler in women’s T20 international cricket following England’s recent success in the shortest format.

While Sadia Iqbal has slipped from the top position, Pakistan still maintains representation among the leading bowlers in the world rankings. Left-arm spinner Nashra Sandhu retained her place inside the top 10, remaining ninth in the latest standings and continuing to be one of Pakistan’s most reliable performers in T20 cricket.

Pakistan captain Fatima Sana, however, experienced a decline in the rankings. The all-rounder dropped six places, falling from 28th to 34th among T20I bowlers after the latest update.

In the batting rankings, Australia’s Georgia Voll continues to occupy the No. 1 position, maintaining her status as the leading batter in women’s T20 international cricket.

Pakistan opener Muniba Ali recorded a positive move in the latest rankings. The wicketkeeper-batter climbed two places to reach 33rd position, reflecting her recent performances and steady progress in the international arena.
