SAR to PKR Today: Saudi SAR Rises to Rs 76.08 Against PKR on July 18, 2025 Amid Seasonal Demand

On July 18, 2025, the Saudi Riyal (SAR) appreciated against the Pakistani Rupee (PKR), with the interbank rate closing at approximately Rs 76.08. In the open market, the Riyal was trading around Rs 77.50. This increase marks a noticeable shift from earlier this month when the currency hovered near Rs 75.80 to Rs 75.90.

The upward movement in the Riyal’s value is largely attributed to rising seasonal demand, particularly due to the Hajj and Umrah seasons. Increased remittances from Saudi Arabia and higher foreign exchange inflows have also contributed to strengthening the Riyal.

Currency experts believe the Riyal may continue to see moderate gains through the remainder of July and into August. They forecast the currency could stabilize between Rs 76.20 and Rs 76.50, depending on the volume of remittance inflows and any potential regulatory intervention. An analyst noted that seasonal patterns and remittance activity are currently key drivers of the SAR-PKR exchange rate.

For travellers, importers, and those receiving remittances, the current trend signals a costlier Riyal in the short term. However, if the State Bank steps in to manage fluctuations or if remittances surpass expectations, a slight correction in rates may occur. Overall, market watchers advise keeping a close eye on currency movements during this high-demand period.
