The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, with senior education department officials in attendance.
Announcing the policy shift, Minister Hayat stated, “I am restoring the board examination system for class 8.” He added that students in classes 5, 6, and 7 would now be evaluated through internal assessment tests instead of formal board exams.
