NDMA Predicts Rain and Thunderstorm Spell Across Pakistan Until June 23

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a precautionary advisory as a new spell of rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds is forecast to affect large parts of the country until June 23. The weather disturbance is expected to impact the upper and central regions, prompting calls for readiness and public caution.

According to the NDMA, areas likely to be affected include Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The authority has warned of possible damage from strong winds, dust storms, and thunderstorms—particularly to vulnerable trees, mud houses, and weak structures.

In view of potential hazards, the NDMA has instructed citizens to park their vehicles in secure and covered areas. The agency also emphasized the risk of reduced visibility during stormy conditions, which could lead to accidents, and urged the public to exercise caution while commuting.

All relevant departments and institutions have been directed to remain on alert and take preemptive measures to deal with any emergencies arising from the adverse weather.
