Gold Prices Rise Sharply in Pakistan, Up by Rs5,300 per Tola on Monday

Gold prices registered a sharp increase across Pakistan on Monday, mirroring a strong upward trend in the international bullion market, with both gold and silver becoming significantly more expensive for local buyers. The rise follows a notable jump in global gold rates, which crossed the $5,000 per ounce mark, pushing domestic prices to new highs.
According to market data, the price of gold in the international market increased by $53 per ounce to reach $5,020, reflecting continued strength in global demand. This surge had an immediate impact on local markets, where prices traditionally move in line with international trends. As a result, the price of 24-carat gold in Pakistan jumped by Rs5,300 per tola, taking the new rate to Rs524,762 per tola.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold increased by Rs4,544, bringing it to Rs449,898. The sharp rise was confirmed by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, which attributed the surge mainly to higher global bullion prices and sustained international market momentum.
Silver prices also followed the upward trajectory alongside gold. The price of 24-carat silver per tola increased by Rs346 to reach Rs8,615 in the local market. Meanwhile, the price of 10 grams of silver rose by Rs296, settling at Rs7,385. Traders noted that silver often tracks gold’s movement during periods of strong global demand, contributing to the overall rise in precious metal prices.
Market analysts said the latest increase underscores the sensitivity of Pakistan’s bullion market to global price movements, especially at a time when international gold rates are hitting record levels. With global uncertainty and strong investor demand supporting precious metals, local prices are expected to remain volatile in the near term, keeping gold and silver expensive for consumers and investors alike.
