Bilawal criticizes PTI-led KP government for ‘extremist politics’

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has accused the PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government of practicing “extremist politics” and neglecting its core responsibility of serving the public. His remarks came after the PTI boycotted an all-parties conference (APC) convened by KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to address recent tribal clashes that resulted in 133 deaths and 186 injuries.
Bilawal, speaking on the need for political dialogue, lauded the PPP-backed governor’s efforts to foster consensus amid the province’s challenges. “Dialogue between political forces is the most effective means to address political, economic, and security challenges,” he wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Criticizing the provincial government under Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Bilawal stated, “The KP government has not spent a single day focusing on their duty to serve the people. Instead, they have been busy practicing extremist politics at the expense of the public.”
The PPP chairman also censured the PTI for skipping the APC despite being invited, stating that the people of KP deserved better governance and leadership. He vowed that the PPP would continue fighting for the rights of KP residents with or without the provincial government’s cooperation.
The PTI, however, defended its decision to boycott the APC, accusing the PPP of supporting the federal government’s alleged agenda to suppress the PTI and round up its workers in Sindh. PTI spokesperson Sheikh Waqas Akram claimed the boycott was also a response to the PPP’s “silence” on the killing of unarmed protesters in Islamabad during a PTI demonstration last month. The PTI alleged that 12 of its supporters were killed when law enforcers opened fire on protesters.
