Fizza and Raza’s relationship develops under the pressure of Jahan Ara’s expectations. Their marriage brings together households with very different ideas about respect and belonging, making Fizza’s search for acceptance an important part of the story.
Saba Faisal’s Jahan Ara Begum and Khaled Anam’s Muzaffar Ali represent opposing attitudes towards daughters. While Jahan Ara associates family pride with her sons, Muzaffar raises his daughters with affection and dignity. As further connections develop between their children, the conflict extends beyond Fizza and Raza’s marriage.
The drama explores gender bias, family pride, marriage and a daughter’s right to feel secure in her home. Through domestic tensions and emotional sacrifices, it questions the belief that sons bring honour while daughters must continually prove their worth.
