Total of 15 Teams Have Qualified for 2026 T20 World Cup After Europe Qualifiers Concluded, Here’s the List
The final lineup of teams for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 has now been confirmed, with Italy making history by qualifying for the first time ever, despite losing their final match against the Netherlands in the Europe Qualifiers in The Hague on Friday.
Italy secured their spot thanks to a superior net run rate over Jersey, who managed a thrilling last-ball victory against Scotland earlier on the same day. Both Italy and Jersey ended the qualifiers tied on five points, but Jersey’s dramatic win wasn’t enough to overtake Italy in the standings.

Batting first in their crucial match, Italy struggled early, losing openers Justin Mosca and Emilio Gay quickly. Captain Joe Burns briefly steadied the innings with 22 runs but fell in the seventh over, leaving Italy at 41/3. After Marcus Campopiano departed cheaply, Italy was further troubled at 46/4. However, a late rally by Benjamin Manenti (30 off 27 balls) and Grant Stewart (25 off 16) allowed Italy to set a competitive total of 134/7.
The Netherlands, chasing 135, dominated from the start. Openers Michael Levitt (34 off 25 balls) and Max O’Dowd took the Dutch team quickly to 66 runs within the powerplay. Although Levitt fell with the score at 81, O’Dowd and skipper Scott Edwards formed a steady partnership of 64 runs to comfortably win the match by nine wickets in just 16.2 overs.

With these results, both Italy and the Netherlands qualified from Europe. Currently, 15 teams have confirmed their places in the T20 World Cup: Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, England, India, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, USA, and West Indies.
The remaining five teams will qualify through upcoming regional events, including three teams from the Asia East Asia-Pacific (EAP) Qualifier and two from the Africa Qualifier, finalizing the full lineup of 20 teams set to compete in India and Sri Lanka in 2026.
