Dr. Arsalan Iftikhar Chaudhry is the son of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
Arsalan Chaudhry Graft Case:
Arsalan Chaudhry has been reportedly involved in a case after media reports alleging Dr Arsalan Iftikhar received millions of rupees from Malik Riaz.
Media reports had suggested that Arsalan had received between Rs300 and Rs400 million from a real estate tycoon, Bahria Town’s chief Malik Riaz, to influence judicial proceedings. The two were summoned to the Supreme Court, which took suo motu notice of the issue by the Chief Justice.
On June 06, 2012, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said anyone who conspired to malign the judiciary would not be spared, adding that his son Dr Arsalan Chaudhry would be punished if he was found guilty. Dr Arsalan has, meanwhile, denied the allegations of corruption that have circulated in the media in recent days. On June 06, 2012, Dr Arsalan Iftikhar, the son of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, has said his father has forced him to leave home till the Supreme Court verdict in the suo moto case concerning his alleged corruption. On June 07, Zahid Bukhari has said that he would appear before the Supreme Court in the Arsalan Iftikhar graft suo moto case on behalf of Bahria Town’s Malik Riaz.
