Chahat Fateh Ali Khan Offers to Star in Karan Johar’s Films ‘Free of Charge’

Renowned singer Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has made an intriguing offer to Bollywood powerhouse Karan Johar: he’s ready to appear in Johar’s films entirely “free of charge.” The unexpected proposal followed Johar’s endorsement of Khan’s recent cover of the hit song ‘Tauba Tauba,’ which the director shared on his Instagram story, calling it a “must-watch” and adding a heart emoji.

Johar produced Bad Newz, a film starring Vicky Kaushal, which featured Karan Aujla’s popular track Tauba Tauba. Soon after, Khan released his own rendition, Toba Toba, reworking the melody and adding his unique lyrical spin. Aujla himself reacted to Khan’s version with humor, commenting, “Uncle na karo please [Uncle, please don’t].” Khan, however, took the comment in stride, liking it and continuing to share his music undeterred.

In a spirited message to Johar, Khan even sang Happy Birthday, though Johar’s actual birthday is on May 25. Brushing off the timing, Khan’s enthusiasm shone through as he expressed deep gratitude for Johar’s recognition, calling him a “kingmaker” and noting his prowess as a producer, singer, actor, and model. This unusual praise left many amused, as Johar has not ventured into modeling, but Khan’s effusive admiration left little room for technicalities.

The singer humorously confessed that he “could not sleep for three nights” after Johar’s acknowledgment, underscoring his excitement at the nod from one of Bollywood’s most influential figures. As Khan’s “free of charge” offer stands, fans are left to wonder whether he might indeed appear in an upcoming Johar production. A scene featuring Khan alongside Bollywood icons like Shah Rukh Khan would undoubtedly be a moment of cinematic excitement.
