The book was formally released on 15 September 2011 in Europe and on 21 October 2011 in Pakistan. The book is an overview of Pakistan’s history, seen through the prism of Khan’s memories and recollections. He also takes a look at historic developments, such as the 1965 and 1971 wars with India, the Iranian revolution in 1979, the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, the 9/11/2001 terrorist attacks, and the subsequent American invasion of Afghanistan. A stated goal was to have these events viewed not only through the eyes of Westerners, but through those of ordinary Pakistanis.
